My daughter, Sneha, came home from school and announced, "We have to read Second Chronicles every day!"

I was taken aback. We read the Bible regularly at home with the kids during prayer time, but we had never read II Chronicles with them. So i asked again, "Did they tell you at school to read something specific from II Chronicles?"

"No Mamma, we just have to read Second Chronicles everyday."

I was still confused and continued questioning her till one of her answers gave me the much needed clue to what she was saying. "Mamma, like you read the newspaper at home, we need to read Second Chronicles at school."

Did you get it??

Life's Like That

I used to get a lot of compliments for my light eyes until i started wearing glasses due to shortsight.
One day I took off my glasses for some reason, and my friend's 4-year-old daughter noticed my eye colour.

"Wow, Savita Aunty! You have green eyes!" she exclaimed.

My pleasure at the perceived compliment was cut short at her next question.

"Savita Aunty, can you see?

My Little Japanese Princess

Posted by Picasa

Sneha is in LKG now (Lower kindergarten to the uninitiated!), and as usual her fancy dress competition generated quite a me, that is.

Last year's Tennis Star was a resounding success and the pressure was on me to live up to it this year too. So i toyed around with different ideas...How about an eskimo? That should be pretty unique, i thought. A rockstar was an easy choice. But a flash of brillance struck, when i remembered the Cheongsam that my mother-in-law had brought from Singapore as a gift for Sneha.

It was perfect! The fan and umbrella completed the look. The string of pearls added a touch of class. And she did it again. Hurray for me :)
